There are a lot of disc jockey companies in the New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut area. Most people that want to book DJ entertainment for their party usually shop for the cheapest price. However, not all DJ companies are the same; therefore we have listed several important points to consider before hiring a disc jockey solely on price.

1. Experience: Most customers don’t realize how important that can be.  The more experience they have, the more you can sit back and enjoy your event because you know everything will be handled by a true professional.
2. Personality/Interactive: Every party is different. Some people want a DJ who has a lot of energy and is fun. Others want low-key affairs. This is something to consider before you speak to a DJ. You also should make it clear to the DJ what you would like at your event.
3. Training: Here are some questions to ask before you hire a DJ. How long has your DJ been in this line of work?  Do they constantly keep up on today’s trends and go to meetings/conventions make your event more fun and exciting?  These questions are important because the more you know, the more you can make an educated decision.
4. Music Library: Ask your DJ what kinds of music they carry. Is it just recent music, or all types of genres?  It’s important to know this because you need to make sure they are the right DJ for your event. For example, you hire a club DJ to do a 50th birthday.  Does the DJ have appropriate music to do this event?
5. Equipment: Each DJ company carries different types of equipment. No two DJ’s are the same.  As a customer, you may want to ask if the DJ has an integrated back up system, should a problem arise, this gives you peace of mind.
6. Contracts: We can't stress enough how important it is to have a written contract with your DJ. You don't want to become one of those people who have horror stories about how their DJ canceled a booking at the last minute. A contract assures your DJ company will be there at a specific place at a specific time.
7. References: We recommend you ask for references from previous clients or better yet, make an appointment with the DJ. Most DJ's have references in a form of a questionnaire they send to their clients after the party is finished, or a letter they receive from the clients. In most cases those letters appear in a book or on their walls in their offices so you can see for yourselves.
8. Dress Code: Appearance is everything. Our DJ's unless told otherwise, we show up in a tuxedo. If you are having a more casual event, please let us know.
